Carolyn Neergaard

 Carolyn Yarbrough Neergaard passed away February 1, 2019 after a battle with brain cancer. Carolyn was born on January 28, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee. She received her bachelor’s degree from Mississippi State University and her nursing degree from the University of Tennessee. She also had a master’s in health education from the University of Memphis. After retiring from a long career as a cardiac rehab nurse, Carolyn worked on the family farm with her husband, Johnny. Carolyn is survived by Johnny and their two children, Laura (Michael) Booker and John David (McKenzie) Neergaard and three granddaughters, Eva (3), Mila (almost 2), and Kenzlee (1). Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Hamlet and Katherine Yarbrough, of Red Banks, Mississippi. Carolyn is also survived by her two older sisters: Garland Minton (Arkansas) and Paula Noble (Olive Branch); her identical twin sister Lean Follett (Meridian, MS); several brother- and sister-in-laws: George, Keith, Richard, Rita, Tommy, and Sandy; and many nieces and nephews. Carolyn was active in showing horses with her horse-loving community, Farm Bureau, Agriculture in the Classroom, and agri-tourism. She was a member of Emory Independent Methodist Church in Watson, MS and loved her Explorers bible study group. She was also a longtime education advocate. She was most at home when caring for others. In lieu of flowers, Carolyn requested that donations be made to Red Banks Methodist Church or a charity of your­ choice. Visitation will be held at Holly Springs Funeral Home on Monday, February 4 from 5-8 p.m. and funeral services will be at Emory Independent Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 5 at 10 a.m.

So sorry for your loss. I know Carolyn did a lot of good work for the younger generation in teaching them about the farm life. If there is anything I can do, please let me know.
