Mary McVay 87, passed away October 24, 2019 at her home in Byhalia, MS, Mary was born March 22, 1932 to Thomas Shackelford and Jeanette Covington Shackelford in Marvell, AR. Mary was a member of Meadow Brook Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mary enjoyed her hobbies, playing basketball, scrabble, dancing, horse shoes and loving her family.
Services will be held October 27, 2019 at 2:30 pm at Meadow Brook Baptist Church, Byhalia, MS. There will be a visitation beggining at 1:30 pm until service. Burial will be at Byhalia Cemetery.
Mary is survived by three sons, Gary Newsom (Gale) of Byhalia, MS, Cary Newsom (Peggi) of Marion, AR and Jerry Newson of Byhalia, MS. Five daughters, Dianne Geeslin (Robert) of Olive Branch, MS, Patty McKnatt (Jackie) of Crenshaw, MS, tamee McClure (Russell) of Olive Branch, MS, Roxanne Turner (Joey) Hickory, NC and Marry Ann McVay of Byhalia, MS. Her brother, Gene Shackelford of Postelle, AR and sister, Joyce Baker of Williston, TN. Thirtyfive grandchildren, fiftynine great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
