Ruby Ellen Walls

 

Ruby Ellen Walls, age 81, of Medora, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 2:00 am.

 

She was born on February 2, 1938, in PotosiMissouri, to the late Richard and Nettie (Parmer) Quick. On October 16, 1955, in Tunica, Mississippi she married the love of her life, Bishop Muncia Walls.

 

A member of Medora Pentecostal Church, Ruby was a Proverbs 31 Lady, a Pastor’s Wife, a loving mother, and a loving Bibi to her grandchildren. She was blessed with many talents. Ruby enjoyed historical and genealogical research, was an avid reader, a seamstress, and a quilt maker.  She traced her ancestry to the Revolutionary War and as a result became a member of the Daughters’ of the American Revolution. Ruby was also blessed with music talent. She enjoyed singing, recorded several albums and played many instruments.

 

She is survived by her husband of 63 years; two daughters: Faythe (Tim) Gill and Tiffini (Labanon) Bingham; six grandchildren Whitney (Timothy) Gothra, Timothy David (Grace) Gill, William Symon Gibson, Emily Heavyn Bingham, Samarah Reese Bingham, and Rhett Baxter Bingham; 3 great-grandchildren; one sister Edith (Jim) Fisher; and a brother: Homer (Jessie) Quick.

 

Ruby was preceded in death by her son, David; two sisters: Mary Quick and Pearl Wilson, and three brothers: Junior Quick, Billy Quick and Joseph Quick.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 7:00 pm at Medora Pentecostal Church at N. Elm St. in Medora. Reverend Russell Elkins of Bloomington will officiate.

 

Family and friends may call from 6:00 pm until time of the service at Medora Pentecostal Church.

 

A second Celebration will be held on February 21, 2019 at 7:00 pm at The Pentecostal Church of Blue Mountain located at 4600 Highway 15 South in Blue Mountain, Mississippi. Ruby is to be interred at Blue Mountain Cemetery beside her son, David Lester Walls, who preceded her in death at the age of 5.

 

Memorials may be given to ALJC World Missions Dept.
