Sammy Ray Stradley (Sam)

Sammy Ray Stradley (Sam), of Holly Springs, passed away Monday, January 15, 2018, in his home surrounded by his loved ones. 


Sam was born January 29, 1933, in Frederick, Oklahoma, and was very proud of his roots and his Native American heritage.  He attended the University of Colorado briefly before bravely serving the U.S. Army in the Korean War. He spent the latter half of his adult life as a Mississippian and worked in construction at PSI until the spry ole age of 82.  He enjoyed golf, crossword puzzles and Thai food.  He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church of Holly Springs.


Sam leaves behind a very large family who loves him dearly, stepson, Mitch Curl of Munford, Tenn.; four stepdaughters, Paula Stephenson of Southaven, Susan Brame of Olive Branch, Elana Gresham of Holly Springs, Jill Strauss of Oxford; 10 grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.


He is welcomed into his eternal home by his wife, Polly Rutherford Stradley, his son, Ray Stradley, and his mother, Mary “Babe” Wilcox.

Services will be held Thursday, January 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm. at the funeral home. There will be a visitation begining at 1:00 pm. until service. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Holly Springs, MS.
