Claude Thomas Colston, 88, died April 10, 2012. He was the widower of Gertrude Marie Humphrey Colson, his wife of 63 years. He attended Believers Baptist Church. He served in World War II at Camp Shelby, then at Camp Croft in Spartanburg, S.C. He learned to cook while in the Army, farmed and did factory work.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on April 13, 2012 at Holly Springs Funeral Home Chapel. Frank Feathers delivered the sermon.
He leaves a son, Jerry Wayne Colston; a daughter, Pattie Dickerson of Holly Springs; a brother, George Monroe Colston of Hickory Flat; a sister, Nora Russom Peel of Holly Springs; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Nathan Colston, Jimmie Cathey, Michael Garber, Roger Allen, Jackie Humphrey and Timothy Humphrey.
