Danny Lanier Simpson, 71, died on August 13, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis, TN. He was born to Blan and Ola Reed Simpson on March 8, 1941 in Benton County. He had been both a merchant and farmer for many years. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, August 16 at the Holly Springs Funeral Home, 1160 Hwy 311 in Holly Springs. A visitation will be held at the funeral home starting at 12 p.m. on Thursday and continuing until service time. Dr. Gerald Hodges and Bro. William Kemp will officiate. Mr. Simpson is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce Mathis Simpson; son, Kevin Simpson (Cindy)of Ashland, MS; daughter, Dawn Larson (Keith) of Oxford, MS; four grand-children, Lori Simpson, Kyle Simpson, Anna Mathis Larson and Hays Larson; a sister, Vonnell Miller (Ed). He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Nona Estes. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ashland Baptist Church, P.O.
