James DeWitt Christy, 79, of Senatobia, passed away on October 13, 2023. Formerly of Holly Springs, he was born in Biloxi on August 16, 1944, to James Ira Christy and Evelyn Collins Christy. As a graduate of Holly Springs High School and Ole Miss, Mr. Christy was employed by various accounting firms in the area before taking over his father’s and mother’s firm. He loved collecting plates, dolls, and scaled models of buildings in Washington, DC.
Mr. Christy is survived by a son, Michael Christy of Hernando. He also leaves a brother, John Michael Christy (Betty) of Cordova, Tennessee, a sister, Carol Ann Soukup (Rick) of Houston, Texas, and five grandchildren, Michael Jr, Andre’, Andrea, Justin and Kelsey. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Collins Christy.
Graveside services for Mr. Christy and his brother, David Christy, will be held at Hill Crest Cemetery on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11:00 am. A visitation for family and friends will be held at Christ Episcopal Church Parish House at 10:00 am, and continue until service time. The Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge.
