Mabel Day

Mabel Day 88, passed away September 5, 2019 at Tinity Missions, Byhalia, MS. Mabel was born September 19, 1930 to Willie Jordan and Zelia Bateman Jordan in Union City, MS. Mabel married Lamar Day, May 1, 1948. Mabel was a member of Potts Camp Methodist Church and a retired hairdresser.

Services will be held September 9, 2019 at 3:00 pm at the funweral home. There will be a visitation beginning at 1:00 pm until service. Burial will be at Potts Camp Cemetery.

Mabel is survived by four children, Roger Day, Kenneth Day, Charlotte Day Underwood and Terri Day Kitchens (Bill). Three grandchildren, Christian Day Molter, Samuel C Underwood and Brandon Day. Eight great grandchildren, Cassie, Tobie, Heather, Jordan, Wittney, Mary Margaret, Jonas and Silas.
Thirteen great great grandchildren. Three step-grandchildren, Lesley Kitchens (Mellissa), Stacie Kitchens Goolsby and Candy Kitchens Lindsey. Six step- great grandchildren and one step- great great grandchild. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces and great great nephews. She was especially close to her dear friend Patricia Westmoreland and felt Pam and Jean Sparks were daughters and part of the family.. As well as many neighbors and friends.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Zelia Jordan. Her husband of sixty seven years, Lamar Day and daughter, Pamela Day.

She was a very nice lady, I worked with her for many years at Wurlitzer. I had great respect for her as a Christian and lady.
