James Michael Fiser, 67, of Snow Lake Shores, MS, was born on June 26, 1953 and died on July 13, 2020. He was the son of the late Betty Sallis Fiser and James Herbert Fiser. Survivors include his sister, B.J. Fiser Jones (Chip) of Roswell, GA, nephews Oliver Jones (Ashley) of Roswell, GA, Andrew Jones (Margaret Rose) of Marietta, GA, and niece Maggie Jones of Atlanta; great-nephews Owen, Eli, and Knox Jones, and great-nieces Annie and Marilouise Jones; his aunt, Marilyn Sallis of Nashville, and many treasured cousins. Also, his best friend, Jimmy Howell (Lisa) of Hickory Flat, MS. ”Mike” grew up in Arkansas, Texas, Indiana, and Michigan, where he played trombone and was drum major in the West Bloomfield High School marching band. In 1972, he became “Jim” when he joined the U.S. Army and served for 10 years in Germany, CO, TX, IL, and Korea. In 1982, he returned to Memphis, attended the University of Memphis, then went to work at NSA/Juice Plus, where he was a valued, dependable employee for 30+ years and became “Psycho.” No matter the name he answered to, he loved classic rock, could fix or build anything, prepared and smoked outstanding ribs and barbecue, gave the best (and often noisiest) gifts to his nieces and nephews, and had the biggest servant’s heart of anyone we ever knew or loved. He left us too soon, and he will be truly missed. Visitation (with masks and social distancing) will be Wednesday, July 15, 2020, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Holly Springs Funeral Home, 1160 Highway 311, Holly Springs, MS. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Tails of Hope Dog Rescue, P.O.Box 30245, Memphis, TN 38118, with “In memory of James Fiser” in the memo., or to the charity of your choice.
