Lillie Jean Craig Renick

Lillie Jean Craig Renick, 94, passed away at her home in Ashland on June 15, 2023. Visitation will be Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Ashland Baptist Church, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm, with the funeral service immediately following the visitation. Burial will be at Ashland Cemetery.  The  Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge of the services.

Mrs Renick was born in Crockett, Mississippi, on December 18, 1928, to John H. and Annie Brady Craig, the youngest of 12 siblings. She was the widow of Jack Renick of Ashland, whom she met while both were attending college at Northwest Junior College in Senatobia. Mrs Renick was a classroom teacher for 40 years in the public-school systems of Benton County, Mississippi, and at Westside High School in Memphis. She was a faithful member of Ashland Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School for close to 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, and all her siblings. She is survived by a daughter, Edie Renick Reed (Glen) of Atlanta, Georgia, and two sons, Alan Craig Renick (Wanda) of Olive Branch, and Bill Renick (Debbie) of Ashland. She is also  survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. 

 Memorials can be made in her memory to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
