Eleanor Carole Coopwood Robison

Eleanor Carole Coopwood Robison, passed away in Germantown, Tennessee, on November 27, 2025.  Mrs Robison was the daughter of the late Samuel David Coopwood, longtime mayor of Holly Springs, Mississippi, and the late Eleanor Moore Coopwood.  She was reared and received her early education in Holly Springs, and graduated from Holly Springs High School. 

She attended Sophie Newcomb College at Tulane University in New Orleans, where she was a member of the Phi Mu Sorority and was a Tulane Beauty.She graduated with a BA in elementary education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she was a yearbook favorite and a Beauty. After college, she worked in New York at Lord and Taylor in a training program for fashion buyers.  She returned to Holly Springs and married her high school sweetheart, Charles Lanier Robison, Jr, on May 31, 1959.  During the early part of her married life she taught school at Holly Springs Elementary School, and taught second grade at Marshall Academy for twenty years.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Mrs Robison was a director at the Merchants and Farmers Bank, a lifelong member of the First Methodist Church , a past member of the Holly Springs Garden Club, and a fifty year member of the Thursday Club.  She enjoyed her duplicate bridge groups in Memphis, Tennessee, and her Friday night group gathering every week in Holly Springs.

Mr Lanier Robison Jr preceeded his beloved wife at his death on March 21, 2006, after forty six years of marriage.  She is survived by her son, Charles Lanier Robison III (Caroline), her daughter, Eleanor Huntington Robison Horton (Robert), five grandchildren, Lauren Austin Robison Cantu, Charles Lanier Robison IV, Grace Ann Robison, Anna Caroll Horton Curcio, Robert Harrison Horton, and a great granddaughter, Ada Jane Robison.

Services for Mrs Robison will be held at First Methodist Church in Holly Springs on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at 2:00 pm.  A visitation for family and friends will begin at 1:00 pm and continue until service time.  Burial, following the service will be at Hill Crest Cemetery.
