Holly Springs Funeral Home

Diane Carver Greer

Diane Carver Greer, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026, at Sanctuary Hospice House after an extended illness. She was born on April 6, 1956, in Memphis, Tennessee, but lived much of her life in Holly Springs, Mississippi at her home, Cuffawa.

Deeply committed to her community, Diane was an integral part of both her church and her community. At Holly Springs First Methodist Church, she sang in the Chancel Choir and served on the Council on Ministries, as well as the Pastor-Parish Relations and Memorials committees. An active leader in several local organizations, Diane served as the current president of the Thursday Club and as a member of the Hospital Board of Directors. She was also an active participant in Belles and Books and a sustaining member of the Holly Springs Garden Club, serving as Pilgrimage chairperson and opening her home for the tour.  With the soul of a natural teacher, Diane found joy in sharing her talents, patiently instructing others in the delicate arts of sewing and smocking. When she wasn't busy serving her community, you could find her in her element: cooking for loved ones (we all loved her pecan bars), catering special celebrations, or creating intricate beauty through French hand sewing. To know Diane was to know a woman who truly mastered the art of living a full and generous life.

After graduating with both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from the University of Mississippi, Diane served at Marshall Academy for forty years as a Kindergarten Teacher, Elementary School Principal, High School Counselor, and Headmaster.  She loved her students and their parents.  After retirement, Diane found fulfillment helping others as a staff member of the Holly Springs Funeral Home.

Diane is survived by her daughter Anna Giachelli (Maury) of Blue Springs, her son Wright Greer of Hickory Flat, her sisters Donna Davin (Bill) of Rome, GA, and Debbie Glen (William) of Collierville, TN.  She is also survived by her grandchildren Hayes Giachelli and Julia Giachelli.

Visitation will be held beginning 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 28 at First Methodist Church in Holly Springs with funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Adam Hawks will deliver the eulogy.  Holly Springs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Sanctuary Hospice House of Tupelo or the First Methodist Church, Holly Springs.
