James "Jimmy" Winborn White, 90, passed away on May 26, 2026 in Maryville, Tennessee. He was born on March 19, 1936 in Holly Springs, Mississippi. After graduating from high school, he joined the Air Force reserves then the workforce. While in high school he met the love of his life, Nadine, and they were married in April of 1955. Together, they made homes in Decatur, Alabama and Memphis, Tennessee, welcoming 2 daughters and 1 son. He enjoyed water skiing, square dancing, and church activities. Jimmy kept busy working in data processing, framing artwork, and building a family home alongside his father-in-law in Waterford, Mississippi. In later years they enjoyed retirement in Maryville, Tennessee where they attended Oak View Baptist Church.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joyce Nadine White, a daughter, Karen Herron, a son, Alan White (Michelle), a grandaughter, Allison Herron, as well as 3 grandsons: Brandon White, Joshua White, and Ethan White. He is also survived by a brother, David Lee Bowers, as well as 2 sisters: Sara Collie and Jamae Zarshenas. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Susan White, and 2 brothers: Edwin White and Samuel White

Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. All services will be held in the chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Thursday, June 4, 2026. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the church.
