Holly Springs Funeral Home

Janice Katherine DuPre "Katie"

Katie DuPre, has met her loving Savior Jesus face to face. She was born on a beautiful Memphis spring day in May and was taken home from the hospital on Mother's Day.

Katie was the oldest of three daughters, born to my parents, John and Janice DuPre. I, Carolyn, was blessed to be her little sister. Katie was a loving and thoughtful Aunt to my children, Benjamin, Anna Lee and Dory.

Katie loved her hometown of Memphis and her friendships she made at Hutchison in grade school and Briarcrest in high school. Katie had an appreciation for music and loved the stage performing in plays and musicals. She also had a beautiful singing voice and was a member of
Briarcrest Concert Choir and Germantown Community Chorus.

Katie was a member of Independent Presbyterian Church but in the past years was devoted to listening to the services from Crossings in Oklahoma. Every Sunday, she would share with me the beautiful music and message she heard. She looked forward to it ! I then shared what i gleaned from my service. It was a beautiful exchange of praising God for his wonderful word and work !

Katie's senior year she was voted by her class "Best Christian Attitude". Anyone who met Katie will tell you she had the sweetest spirit and a heart full of thankfulness. Kindness spilled through her every day! Katie had such a great love and respect for our mother and father. It makes my heart fill with peace, joy, and comfort knowing she is with them in heaven, and with our precious sister, Dorothy.

Katie is survived by her sister Carolyn DuPre and four cousins, Marion Maxwell, Elizabeth Guthrie, Lee O'Brien and William Fitzhugh; her nieces Anna Lee Goocher, and Dory Goocher,  nephew Benjamin Goocher, her dear Aunt Judith Mitchener, Uncle Frank Mitchener, along with cousins Paul and Carol Calame.
