Leonetta Maxine (Nita) Gandy, 93, of Potts Camp, MS passed away peacefully on May 31, 2026 at her home. She was born October 1, 1932 to the late Annie and Henry Williams. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church Potts Camp where she served in several positions over the years.

Nita is survived by two children: a daughter, Kathy Ritts of Potts Camp, and a son, Ray Gandy (Nina) also of Potts Camp, grandchildren Melissa Shaw (Jerry) of Potts Camp, James Ray Gandy (Shelly) of Spohia, North Carolina, Melissa Jursik (Bill), and Ginger Ware (Tommy), great-grandchildren Anna Beth Gandy Barnes (Walker), Drew Buckholts, Olivia Gandy, Clay Smith, Jason Smith, Derrick Billiot, Arec Prestenbach, and Alec Prestenbach, as well as two great-great grandchildren, Marlee Smith and Macy Smith.

Nita was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Cecil Ray Gandy Sr., a son, Jimmy Ray Gandy, her parents, 3 brothers, and 7 sisters.

Visitation will be held on Friday, June 5th, 2026 from 5 until 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be Saturday, June 6th, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Services will be held in the chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Chewalla Cemetery where a graveside service will be held.

The Family suggests memorials to be made to St. Jude in honor of her son who passed away from Leukemia at the age of 5.
