Mary Elizabeth Young passed away on January 21,2026 surrounded by family. She was born August 16,1940 in Memphis Tenn to Edward and Fannie Mae Campbell.

 

She retired from J Strickland, she was a waitress at Dees Truck Stop in Red Banks, Mississippi. She enjoyed sitting on the front porch with family, going to the Mexican Restaurant with family and going to the casinos. 

 

She was a loving mom, sister and Nanny! She loved everyone she met and to know her was to love her. She loved the Lord and was a Godly woman and expressed her love for the Lord through singing and writing gospel songs.

 

She is survived by her sons Glenn Young and Ronald Young (Brandy) and her bonus kids Mike and Deb Ruark. Her siblings Joann, Charlene, Laverne, Ernie and Walter. Grandchildren Christy, Ethan, William, Kaleigh, Katelyn, Crystal, Ricky and Victoria. She also had 7 great grandchildren. Shelove each and everyone and she was able to express her love before her passing.

 

She is preceded in death by husband of 54 years Bill Young and her honey Pop, her parents Edward and Fannie Mae Campbell, daughter Tammy Waldron, her siblings Richard, Tommy, Gary, Emma Jean, Linda and Pamela and her grandson Joshua Young.
