Myrtle Mackey, age 87, made her entrance into Heaven, April 2, 2026, just days after celebrating 70 years of marriage to the love of her life, Sidney Mackey. Her life was spent serving Jesus and her family. Anyone that ever asked her was told the secret of life is serving Jesus and keeping Him first in everything.

Myrtle was born June 8, 1938 to Ida and Lonnie Lipford, both precede her in death. No matter how far away dementia took her mind, her constant memory was that she had a precious, precious momma that really liked Sidney too.
 

Also preceding her in death are her son, Rickey Dale Mackey, grandson Rick Mackey, brothers Sonny Lipford and Aubrey Lipford, and sister Louise Beasley.
 

Myrtle is survived by her husband, Sidney Mackey, son Ronnie Mackey and wife Melba, daughter in law Starla, brother Charles Lipford, grandchildren and great grandchildren. A host of relatives and friends will carry her memory for many years to come.
 

Visitation will be held from 10 until service time, The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. Services will be held in the chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Monday, April 6, 2026. Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery where a graveside service will be held.
