Mary Carolyn Pipkin Schmidt

Mary Carolyn Pipkin Schmidt, 87 formerly of Olive Branch, Mississippi passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025 in Nesbit, Mississippi.

Carolyn was born on April 18, 1938 in the Bethlehem Community of Holly Springs, Mississippi to Jimmy Lee Pipkin and Sidney Gay Ash Pipkin.

Carolyn loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Fountain of Truth Church. She loved her family and friends and was passionate about sending cards for every occasion throughout the year totaling around 250 cards annually. She took great pride in gardening and tending to her flowers. She was an excellent cook and homemaker. She loved to brag on her family and their many accomplishments. She was also a dog mom to Sham and Princess who blessed her life for many years.

Carolyn was a hard worker and provided very well for her family. She served many years as an inspector at the General Electric Lamp Plant until her retirement.

The widow of Albert Thomas Schmidt, she leaves two sons, Keith Cooper (Elizabeth) of Decaturville, Tennessee and Phillip Cooper of Nesbit, Mississippi. She is survived by a brother, Jimmy Allen Pipkin (Virginia) of Corinth, Mississippi, 8 grandchildren, Jason Cooper (Charity) of Selmer, Tennessee, Christopher Cooper (Jennifer) of Saltillo, Mississippi, Ashley Payne (Matt) of Brandon, Mississippi, Joshua Cooper (Sunni) of Jackson, Tennessee, Tyler Cooper (Jenna) of Medina, Tennessee, Whitney Hollenbeck (Joey) of Gallatin, Tennessee, Eric Graham of Memphis, Tennessee, Amanda Smith (Troy) of Batesville, Mississippi and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Reverend Jim Pipkin and Sidney Pipkin, 3 sisters, Marilyn Pulse, Volene Taylor and Shelia Bingham, a daughter, Teresa Renee Burkett and a grandson, Jeremy Keith Cooper.

Carolyn was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Services will be held in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 11:00 and continue until service time. Burial will be at Blue Mountain Cemetery.
