Arnold (Arnie) Edwin Graber, 79, of Byhalia, Mississippi passed away on Wednesday, May 20th, 2026 at home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on April 30th, 1947 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Arnie was adopted by a loving family; Mr. Meyer Graber and Mrs. Lou Shuski Graber as well as a brother, David Graber. In May of 1965, he graduated from Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, TN and would attend UT Knoxville for college.
Arnie was a successful computer business owner for many years. He was also a world traveler of which his favorite spot was scuba diving in the Grand Caymans. He was a certified scuba diver and enjoyed night dives. He was blessed with several partners throughout his lifetime and loved by many.
Arnie went to work at Methodist Healthcare where he was put through radiology school and he completed in the top 10 of his class. Arnie was lucky enough to be placed at Methodist South in the heart cath lab, where he stayed until retirement. He loved his job and all of his co-workers.
He was a very meticulous, magnanimous, benevolent, and compassionate one-of-a-kind man. He could be found always telling a joke and making someone smile while wearing his pocket potector with calendar and sticky notes. He led a fascinating life, raised in the Jewish faith but baptized as a Christian in the Mediterranean Sea as an adult.
Arnie is survived by 3 brothers: Steve Smith (Melinda) of Olive Branch, Ernest Smith (Missy) of Byhalia, and Kenneth Smith (Cheryl) also of Byhalia. He is also survived by a sister, Tamara Smith of Byhalia. He was preceded in death by his adoptive parents as well as 3 brothers: Gregory Smith, Phillip Smith, and David Graber.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM until service time. The funeral service will begin at 4:00 PM. All services will be held in the chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 27th, 2026. He will be buried in the Memphis Memory Gardens. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. |
