Eva Lou McMinn, 88, passed away Sunday morning February 17, 2019 in her home located in Mt. Pleasant, MS surrounded by her husband and family. Lou was born May 30, 1930 in Armoel, Arkansas, to Robert and Mae Smithson. She married the love of her life “on a Saturday night” in 1949. She was an active member of Broadway Baptist Church followed by Slayden Baptist Church. She was a friend and mentor to everyone she met. Lou was loved by many
Services will be held February 20, 2019 at 11:00 am at Slayden Baptist Church. There will be a visitation at the church beginning at 9:00 am until srvice. Burial will be at Memorial Hill Garden, Memphis, TN.
Lou is survived by her “Darlin’” Joe Estes McMinn, daughters Linda Sue Tatum (Eddie Tatum), Deana Jo Hunsucker, Joan Ailene Hickey (Darrell Hickey), and Charlotte Annette Farris (Steve Farris), 9 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her sister Neva Sue Poynter and brother Harold Dean Smithson.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mae Smithson and her son Joe Estes McMinn, Jr.
