Antonietta Coletta Leatherwood

Antonietta Coletta Leatherwood, 88, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2024 at the Reynolds Hospice House surrounded by her family. Her Celebration of Life service will be held Monday, April 22nd, 2024 at 1:30 pm at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant, MS. Visitation will be Sunday, April 21st, from 3-7 pm at Mt. Pleasant Methodist Church. She will be laid to rest in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. Holly Springs Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Ann was born June 19, 1935 in Hulbert, Arkansas to Anthony and Leora Shackelford Coletta. As a child Ann loved to play in the basement while her parents, aunts and uncles worked upstairs at Coletta's Italian Restaurant on North Parkway East in Memphis, Tennessee. She worked in downtown Memphis at various restaurants during her late teens and early twenties. 

In 1963, she moved to the Mt. Pleasant-Slayden area and became very active in church and community events. She was one of the founding members of Mt. Pleasant Christian Academy, where she worked tirelessly with all grades and activities. She developed a love for baking and has made many birthday, wedding, and raffle cakes over the years. She always enjoyed making food for her famiy and friends. 

In 1985, she married Charles Leatherwood. In 2002, she became the owner of Miss Ann's Antique Treasures in Moscow, Tennessee. She enjoyed each day visiting with people from all walks of life and finding treasures in the boxes purchased for resale. 

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Orlando Halpert. She is survived by her husband, Charles Leatherwood of 39 years, her brother, Toney Coletta (Margie) of Redding, CA, her daughters, Colet DeVore-Pierce (Ken) of Mt. Pleasant, Glenda Reed (Ron) of Hereford, CA, Lisa Chambers (Ricky) of Corinth, MS, and her son, Mike Leatherwood (Amber) of Franklin, TN. Four grandchildren, B.J. Jarman, Sandi Jo Menjo, Ashley Blount (Jonathan), and Katie Parker. She also leaves three great grandchildren.
