Marjorie Perkins Clifton, 92, entered into the presence of her Heavenly Savior,
Jesus Christ, on Sunday, February 22, 2026, with her family surrounding her. She was blessed with a beautiful, long life.
She was born to the late Charlie and Grace Perkins on June 27 th , 1933, in New Albany, Ms. She was married on June 15 th , 1949, to Henry C. Clifton. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great- great grandmother. She was a founding and long-time member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.
She retired from Wurlitzer Piano but her favorite title, by far, was wife, mother,
and mawmaw. She was known for her community service and her love for everyone. She is known as "mawmaw Clifton", not just to her family, but to her family's families, friends, neighborhood children and their families. Everyone who walked through her door experienced her welcoming presence. She was the epitome of the Proverbs 31 Christian Lady. Not only did she talk about Christianity, but she lived it. She was known for the wise advice she gave, her quiet, kind spirit, and the love she showed everyone. She loved as Jesus loves and she loved well! Her favorite pastime was reading. She was a published author and submitted weekly articles for several newspapers.
She is survived by 3 sons; Ward Clifton of Potts Camp, MS, Jerry Clifton, (Shelia) of Ashland, MS, Ricky Clifton, (Rhonda) of Hickory Flat, MS, one son-in-law, Wayne McGregor of Hickory Flat, MS and one daughter-in-law, Barbara Allen Clifton of Red Banks, MS, 14 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 22 great, great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her siblings, her
children; Coleman Clifton and Wilma Clifton McGregor, one daughter-in-law, Debbie Walker Clifton, one granddaughter, Camille Clifton, and one great granddaughter, Madison McGregor.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 24 th from 5-9pm. Services will be
held on February 25 th at 11:00am with visitation from 10:00am to service time. Visitation and Services will be held at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1299 MS-2, Hickory Flat, MS. Bro. Michael Clifton, Bro. Drew Wooten, and Bro. Daniel Brookman will be officiating.
Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery.
The Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great grandsons.
