Mary Fortner 93 passed away January 28, 2020 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Mary was born December 8, 1926 to Virgue Autry and Grace Brown Autry in Ashland. MS. Mary was a member of Bluff Springs Baptist Church and a Seamstress. Services will be held January 30, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Bluff Springs Baptist Church. Visitation starts at 11:00 am until service time. Burial will be at Bluff Springs Cemetery in Ashland, MS Mary is survived by Four daughters Judy McMullen (Thomas) of Ashland, MS, Sandra Hammond (Ray) of Lufkin, TX , Mary Sue Tudor (Rick) of Saltillo, MS. and Gloria Sipes of Ashland, MS, one sister Jean Tidwell of Ashland, MS. Seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas O. Fortner Sr, one son Thomas O. Fortner Jr, and one daughter Beverly Burns.

She sat across from him and always made sure we knew if something was “not quite right” since our Dad could not speak. I loved visiting w Mary daily and watching her make blankets for all the grandchildren. She was a beautiful, loving woman. We are so happy that our lives crossed.
