Michael Lee Garrison, 86, of Canton, Georgia, has been reunited in Heaven with his beloved wife, Betty. Mike passed away peacefully at his home in Canton on March 11, 2026.
Mike was born on July 24, 1939, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Morris Garrison and Myrle Edna West. From the age of two, he was raised by his stepfather, Donald Trump, whom he affectionately called Dad. Mike grew up in Indiana and carried those small-town values of hard work, loyalty, and family throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his parents; and two brothers, Vinton R. Trump and Steven Ellis Trump.
Mike is survived by his two sons, Wesley B. Garrison (Lisa) of Cloverdale, Indiana, and Michael B. Garrison of Memphis, Tennessee. He is also survived by his sister, Eva Robinson (Dennis) of Avon, Indiana. Through his marriage to Betty, he also leaves behind three stepdaughters: Margie Ing, Patricia Day, and Mary Jane Sullivan.
Mike was a proud grandfather to Nicole, Robin, Wesley Jr., Sonya, Amanda, Christainey, Whitney, Brittany, Brandon, Mikayla, Ariel, and M’chelle, as well as 24 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
In their later years, Mike and Betty were lovingly cared for by their granddaughter Robin and her husband Shane, whose support helped make their time in Canton comfortable and fulfilling. Mike enjoyed living in the Canton area, where the convenience of nearby shops, restaurants, and medical care made daily life easier.
Mike had a lifelong love of trucks. Nearly every year he would trade in his current one for a brand-new model with all the latest features. But for Mike, a truck wasn’t quite complete until he added dual exhaust, because he enjoyed the distinctive sound it produced.
While living with Robin and her family, Mike especially enjoyed taking her boys, Bransen and Kolben, to school and attending their sporting events. Being involved in their lives brought him great joy and gave him a strong sense of purpose in his later years. |
