Carole Jean Taylor

Carole Jean Taylor, 84, passed away at her home in Holly Springs on September 5, 2024, surrounded by those who loved her.  She was born in Holly Springs on December 3, 1939, to William Leon Brown and Nina Mills Brown.  Carole Jean was a member of First Baptist Church of Holly Springs, and was a court reporter (retired).

Carole Jean was one whose pride in her family, her deep faith, and sweet spirit were admired by all who knew her.   She was so loved by her family, her children, her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and her friends. Known for her bright, sweet smile, her beautiful voice and her kindly attitude, she was a favorite of so many.

Carole Jean is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Elgin Lafever (Johnny), of Holly Springs and two sons, Steve Elgin (Kathy), also of Holly Springs, and John Taylor III (Andrea) of Charleston, Mississippi.  She also leaves six grandchildren, John Elgin Lafever (Allie), Emma Elizabeth Elgin, Frank Stephenson Elgin Jr, Mitchell Frank Lafever (Shelbie), Lowery Kayelin Taylor, and Matthew Edwin Fleming, and two great grandsons, Bo Irwin Lafever and Max Frank Lafever.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John W Taylor Jr, and her brother William Leon Brown Jr. 

Services for Carole Jean will be held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 1:00 pm, at First Baptist Church in Holly Springs.  The family will receive friends and family at a visitation at the church, beginning at 11:00 am, and lasting until service time.  Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery.
  
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial tributes be made to the First Baptist Church of Holly Springs.

Steve/Suzanne/Tripp....So very sorry to hear about our beautiful cousin Carole Jean. She was a true Southern Belle. I spoke with her a few times in the past year. Your/our family and Holly Springs meant so much to us over the years. Was always a joy to come visit with Aunt Nina, Uncle Leon and later you guys. Take care. Love you. Your cousin Ricky.
