Judy Carol Pfahler, age 77, passed away peacefully with the supportive medical staff at Baptist Memorial Hospital of New Albany, along with her family by her side. Judy Carol was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on January 16, 1951, to the parents of Edward and Pauline Colston. Judy Carol grew up in Holly Springs alongside her older brother, Bobby, and her younger sisters, Joyce and Donna. She graduated from Holly High School and continued her education at Northwest Community College, where she earned her associate’s degree in business.
On January 8, 1972, she married Thomas Pfahler, and together they raised three sons: Kris, Scott, and Josh. Judy worked in human resources before later becoming a homemaker, a role in which she devoted herself to caring for her family. She enjoyed reading, watching documentaries, and caring for her beloved pets, earning the affectionate title of “animal whisperer” from those who knew her best. Judy was especially blessed by her grandchildren, Katelyn, Kadence, Kyle, Karmen, and Kaden, whom she adored deeply and by whom she will forever be lovingly remembered as “Mama Judy.”
In her later years, she lived with her youngest son, Josh, and daughter-in-law, Ashley, where she treasured joining them on family trips and making special memories together. Judy will be remembered for her quick wit, her playful sense of humor, and the laughter and light she brought to those closest to her. Her favorite sayings—“Oh my gosh,” “Whatever,” “I do what I want”, and “I love that”—will continue to bring smiles to the hearts of her family and friends.
Judy Carol Pfahler was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose love and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. She will be remembered for her caring heart, her devotion to her family, and the joy she brought to those around her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Pauline Colston; her brother, Bobby Colston; her sister, Donna Massengill; and her late husband, Thomas Pfahler.
Judy is survived by her sister, Joyce Akin; her three sons, Kris, Scott, and Josh and his wife, Ashley; and her cherished grandchildren, Katelyn, Karmen, Kadence, Kaden, and Kyle, whom she loved dearly.
Visitation will be held at Holly Springs Funeral Home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., with a funeral service and Celebration of Life to follow at 2:00 p.m. A private family graveside service will follow.
Judy Carol leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and always held close in the hearts of her family and friends.
