Christy Gallagher, 57, of Collierville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2018 surrounded by her loving family after her four-month battle with metastatic breast cancer.
Christy enjoyed graphic design, painting, gardening, collecting antiques, and celebrating life with her family and many devoted friends. She lived everyday to the fullest, was loved by all that she met and will be remembered for her smile, her wacky sense of humor and her really big heart.
A graphic artist and entrepreneur, Christy received her degree in marketing and graphic design from Northwest Community College in 1981. She then founded her business of 30 years, Associates Promotion & Design, on the square in Collierville in May of 1988.
Her awards include Outstanding Woman In Business - Women's Natural History Month from the Twentieth Century Club in 1993; Preservation Award to Associates Promotion & Design from Main Street Collierville in 2005; Operations Vendor of the Year from Washington Workplace in 2010 and 2013; Nathan M. Loth Award for outstanding achievement in the promotion and development of Workplace Furnishings, Inc. in 2018.
Left to cherish Christy's memory are her parents, Ray and Tommie Gallagher of Waterford, Mississippi; daughter, Elizabeth (Liza) Neergaard Bryson and son-in-law Charles (Chuck) Montgomery Bryson, Jr. of Collierville, Tennessee, and her grandchildren, Charles (Tripp) Montgomery Bryson, III and Ella Christine Bryson.
Christy also leaves behind her sister, Jean Gallagher McGraw and nephews, Wayne and Ian McGraw of Chesapeake, Virginia; great-aunts, Eileen File of Pope, Mississippi and Ruth Ferguson of Coldwater, Mississippi and cousins: Keith File (Amy), Tina File and Kellie Samsel (Scott).
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Howard (Cub) and Marie Nelson; step-grandmother, Kathryn Nelson; paternal grandparents, Ray and Beulah Gallagher; uncles Terry File and Durene Ferguson, brother-in-law Kevin McGraw; and sister, Susan Gallagher.
Visitation will be Saturday, December 29th, 2018 at 4:00 to 7:00 PM, the funeral service will be Sunday, December 30th at 2:00 PM, both at the Collierville United Methodist Church - Sanctuary on the Square with an interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery.
Please join the family afterwards for a celebration of Christy's life at her home in Collierville, 135 E. Valleywood Drive.
