Daniel Randolph Scott, age 76 of Lamar, MS. passed away peacefully at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, TN. on December 30, 2023. He was born in Ripley, MS. on January 1, 1947 to Robert A and Nettie Fay Scott.
Mr. Scott, Randy to his friends, was a Construction Superintendent for Wright and Associates Construction for 15 years. Randy worked for many years in the construction industry beyond his time there. He also enjoyed being his own boss as he spent many additional years self-employed.
Randy's generous nature and ingenuity led to much success in both his professional and personal life. A giving spirit. Quick with a story or sincere compliment while never being afraid to tell you what he really thought made him a real character. Loved by most and respected by all who knew him.
Randy was preceded in death by his loving wife Paula Scott, his parents Robert A and Nettie Fay Scott, brothers Fletcher, Tracy, John, and his sister Nancy Scott. He is survived by his son Josh(Cassidy) Scott of Lamar, MS, daughter Kim(Richard) Tyler of Royse City, TX, brother Greg(Diane) Scott of Walnut, MS, two sister in-laws Linda Scott of Walnut, MS, and Patsy Tibbles of Memphis, TN. He is also survived by his greatest accomplishment, his three grandchildren, Sydney Nichole, Jesse Scott, and Robert Joshua Tyler.
Services will be held at Holly Springs Funeral Home on January 2, 2024 with visitation at 1:00 pm followed by the funeral at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting memorial donations be directed to:
