Donna Smith Jackson, 81, of Ashland, passed away at Baptist Hospital in DeSoto County on March 25, 2023. She was born in Marshall County, Mississippi, on October 1, 1941, to Fred A Smith and Elsie Morgan Smith. Mrs Jackson was a former florist and a teacher.
Mrs Jackson is survived by two daughters, DaLane Dodd (Thomas) of Lamar, and Susan Jones (David) of Valdosta, Georgia, and five grandchildren, Amy Dodd, Joshua Jones, Anthony Jones, Sarah Jones, and Courtney Jones. She also leaves two brothers, Sam Smith and Kem Smith, and three sisters, Eva Tindell, Mary Jo Rushing, and Lisa Craft. Mrs Jackson was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Leon Jackson, a grand son, Matthew Dodd, and her parents.
Services for Mrs Jackson will be held in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at 1:00 pm. A visitation for family and friends will begin at noon, and last until service time. Burial will be at Ashland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be made to LeBonheur Childrens' Medical Center in memory of Matthew Dodd.
