Gary Michael Maholm, 77, passed away at his home in Hattiesburg, MS after a prolonged battle with Parkinson’s Disease.
Born in Dover, OH, Gary relocated to Holly Springs, MS after graduating from Dover High School and attended Ole Miss as an undergraduate and later graduated from The University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy. In 1978, He purchased Byhalia Drug Company which he owned and operated for 30 years. Throughout his career and retirement, he remained deeply involved in the Byhalia Community as an active member of the Byhalia Lions Club and the Byhalia Methodist Church. Gary enjoyed sports, especially watching his son’s games and he cherished his time on the golf course playing with his brothers, sons and friends. Gary also loved to travel with family and friends. In 2019 he retired to Hattiesburg, MS to be close to his sons and grandsons.
Gary leaves Behind 2 Sons, Michael Maholm of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and Paul Maholm (Jessica) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi and 2 Grand Children, Wyatt and Beckett Maholm of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and his three Brothers, Brad Maholm (Sharon) of Dover, Ohio, Bill Maholm (Susan) of Clearwater, Floriday and Gregg Maholm of Memphis, Tennessee and many nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his Wife of 27 years, Linda Gurner Maholm and his parents, Kenneth Maholm of Holly Springs, Mississippi and Betty Lou Richardson of Dover, Ohio and his Stepparents James Richardson of Dover, Ohio and Frances Stanley of Holly Springs, Mississippi
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time. The funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM. All services will be held in the chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24th, 2026. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery where a graveside service will be held.
