Gladys Jewel Vanzant 76, passed away September 3, 2019 at Ashland Health and Rehab. Mrs. Vanzant was born October 20, 1942 to Edward Brooks Houston and Sarah West Houston in Asland, MS. Gladys was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Hicory Flat, MS and a homemaker.
Services will be held September 6, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Faith Baptist Church, Hickory Flat, MS. There will be a visitation at the church Thursday evening, September 5, 2019 from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial will be at McKay Cemetery, Hickory Flat, MS.
Mrs. Vanzant is survived by her husband, John Vanzant of Hickory Falt, MS. Two sons, Michael King of New Albany, MS and John "JB" Vanzant of Hickory Flat, MS. Four daughters, Donna Franklin (Rickey) of Senatobia, MS, Wendy Jones of Ashland, MS, Bridgett Smith (Morris) of Cascilla, MS and Paula Vanzant of Olive Branch, MS. Her sister Jestell Wilson of Ahland, MS. Fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
