Idlett West

Idlett Maudine Daniel West, 78, of Ashland, Mississippi, met her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and went to her heavenly home on Monday afternoon, March 25,2019 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth, Mississippi.

Idlett, the wife and soulmate of Ronald West, married on June 20, 1969.  They have had a wonderful, loving Christian marriage for the past 48 years.  Mrs. West was born on September 27,1940 in Saulsbury, Tennessee, daughter of the late Maurice and Estella Daniel.  She was a graduate of Ashland high School, Blue Mountain College where she was very proud to be a Modenian, and the University of Mississippi where she received her Master’s degree.  Mrs. West was an educator in Georgia, Mississippi, and Tennessee for 30 plus years. Most of her teaching career was spent in the Benton County School System. She was very special to everyone whose life she touched.  She was a member of Ashland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and was a member of the WMU for many years.

Mrs. West enjoyed her church, gardening, canning, cooking and could recite recipes from heart.  She loved anything Ole Miss, and enjoyed spending lots of valuable time with family and friends, talking with others, and was a friend to everyone she met. She was an angel on earth.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sisters and a brother: Brenda Cox of Olive Branch, Ms., Allen Daniel (Myrna) of Bartlett, Tn, and Patty Chute of Somerville, Tn. She also leaves some very special nephews, nieces, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Maurice and Estella Daniel.

A celebration of life will be held at Ashland Baptist Church in Ashland, Ms. On Thursday, March 28,2019. Visitation will be held at the Church from 10:00-11:00 and the celebration of life honoring the life of Mrs. Idlett West will begin at 11:00. David & Patty & family, Idlett was a truly lovely person. She was one of the sweetest, most kindhearted people I’ve ever had the pleasure to know. She always had a smile to share and a “How are you doing?” to go along with it. I will miss her and I know you all will. I’m truly sorry for your loss. You all will be in my prayers.
