James "Jimmy" Gurley

James "Jimmy" Gurley, 87, passed away July 19, 2021, at his home in Potts Camp, Mississippi. He was born on November 2,1933, to Joe Aden Gurley and Donnie Newsom Gurley in Potts Camp. Mr. Gurley was a Baptist, and worked as a farmer and machinest. He was a United States Navy Veteran.
 
Services will be held July 21, 2021, at 11:00 am, at the funeral home chapel. There will be a visitation, Tuesday evening, July 20, 2021, from 5:00 - 9:00 pm. Burial will be at Chewalla Primitive Cemetery.
 
Mr. Gurley is survived by his son, William Gurley (Debbie) and  a daughter, Beth Overall, both of Potts Camp. He also leaves six grandchilderen, Heather Overall, Brian Overall (Jesse), Jamie Whaley (Kyle), Joey Gurley (Brianna), Rebekah Duke (Keith), Randy Martin (Michelle), and twelve great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen Eason (Preston), a brother, William W. Gurley, and a son-in-law, Rex Overall.

Billy and Beth I am so sorry to hear of Jimmy's passing. I just found out yesterday. He was a wonderful man and treated me like a daughter while I was in the family. I would have loved to have attended the funeral to say my good-bys. 8/18/2021

My mom worked with Mr. Jimmy for years at Security Signals. I just heard about his passing. My condolences to your whole family. Mr. Jimmy was a good friend to both of my parents and they thought a lot of him and I did too.
