Jimmy Frank Tharp, 69, of Holly Springs, Mississippi, passed away on Wednesday, October 27th, 2021, at his home surrounded by loved ones.
Jimmy was born November 5th, 1951, to JK and Ethel Cantrell Tharp, in Cleveland, Mississippi. He studied at State Tech Institute of Memphis, after which he stayed in the Memphis area and worked as a heating and air specialist.
When Jimmy retired in 2012, more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, feverishly cheering on the Dallas Cowboys, and entertaining heated political debates on Facebook.
Jimmy will be remembered for his enduring love of his family and friends, his wicked sense of humor, and his compassionate heart. He lent a hand whenever needed. He was a music enthusiast, a football fanatic, and an amazing storyteller.
Jimmy was predeceased by his parents, JK Tharp and Ethel Cox, and stepfather, Jack Cox. He is survived by his four sisters, Shirley King, Jackie Baker, Barbara Noel, Mary Scroggins, his daughter, Andrea Tharp, and his grandchildren, Taylor Laury and Justin Fava.
Per his wishes, services will be suspended. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to NoKidHungry.Org.
