Jimmy Wayne Ammons

Jimmy Wayne Ammons, 79, of Byhalia, passed away at his home on October 2, 2022.  He was born on March 4, 1943, in Bessemer, Alabama, to Willie Ammons and Exle Dunn Ammons. Mr Ammons was a construction worker.

Mr Ammons is survived by a son, Tony Ammons (Amber) of Byhalia, and a daughter, Noria Hernandez (Joe), also of Byhalia.  He also leaves eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and four sisters, Betty Davis of New Orleans, Louisiana, Linda Islet of Austin, Texas, Debbie Coshatt of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Jackie Glass of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Gerald Ammons, James Ammons, Sherrill Ammons, and Jeff Ammons, and three sisters, Rita Armstrong, Alice Parkey, and Helen Porterfield.

Services for Mr Ammons will be held in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home, on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 2:00 pm.  A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening, October 6, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.  Burial, following the service, will be at Byhalia Cemetery.
