John Richard Gibbons, 61, passed away in Waterford, Mississippi, on June 26, 2024. He was born in Jackson, Tennessee, on June 7, 1963, to the late James Gibbons of Palmersville,Tennessee, and Ethelene Hulsey of Holly Springs. He was the fourth of eight children, and was a truck driver for Shawn Davis Logging. Johnny loved working in his yard, grilling on the grill, and spending time with family and friends.
Johnny leaves, to cherish his memory, a loving mother, Ethelene Hulsey of Holly Springs, four brothers, Steve Rodgers of Dukedom, Tennessee, Paul Gibbons, Rod Hulsey, and Richard Hulsey, all of Holly Springs, a sister, Marsha Taylor (Ricky) of Holly Springs, two sons, James R Gibbons (Kacie) and Daniel Gibbons, all of Potts Camp, a daughter, Sarah Gibbons of Senatobia, and a daughter in love, Melinda, of Holly Springs. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and one great grandchild, with two great grands on the way. He leaves a host of friends, along with his lifelong friend, Rich Giel.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, James Gibbons, a sister, Kathy Esmon of Potts Camp, a brother, Scottie Rodgers of Ashland, and his son, Shannon Gibbons of Holly Springs.
A memorial service for Johnny will be held in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral home on
Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 2:00 pm. A visitation for family and friends will begin at noon, and last until service time. |
