Larry Gordon Anderson Sr

Larry Gordon Anderson Sr, 86, of Mt Pleasant, Mississippi, was received into his eternal home with his Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ, on November 12, 2022.  He was born on June 17, 1936, to Sam and Brownie Anderson.  At the age of six, Larry gave his heart to Jesus, and never waivered in his faith in Christ.

Larry was the owner of DeSoto Fertilizer in Rossville, Tennessee.  He also enjoyed a second career as a realtor.  He was an avid outdoorsman, who shared his enjoyment of hunting, fishing, and agriculture with his sons and grandchildren.  Larry enjoyed caring for his heard of registered Black Angus cattle.  Well into his eighty’s, he was cutting and bailing hay and working cows.  Most of all, Larry enjoyed just being with family and his wife, Mary, whom he adored.

Larry leaves the love of his life, with whom he was one in marriage for over 64 years, Mary Joyner Anderson.  He also leaves four sons, Gordon (Deidre), Paul (Melissa), Andy (Rebecca), and Eric (Amber); grandchildren Trey Anderson, September Anderson, Erica Brown, Katie Groning, Chelsea Skelton, Wesley Anderson, Colton Anderson, Molly Kate Anderson, Bryson Anderson, and Maizy Anderson; and nine great grandchildren.  Larry’s love, wisdom, and kindness will be missed by his sons, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Larry was preceded in death by a precious grandson, Ean Anderson.

Services for Larry will be held at Carey Chapel Baptist Church on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at 11:00 am, with the family receiving guests beginning at 10:00 am.  Burial, following the service, will be at Carey Chapel Cemetery.  A visitation for family and friends will be held at the church on Tuesday evening, November 15, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm.  The Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge.

This is the legacy your father, grandfather, friend and brother in Christ left for us all. He loved us all well and I feel sure he heard the words "Well done, my good and faithful servant.
