Louise Clayton Whisenant

Mabel Louise Clayton Whisenant, 86, of Holly Springs, passed away at her home on February 14, 2023.  She was born in Okalona, Mississippi, on March 1, 1936, to James Oliver Clayton and Mabel Hestella Brents Clayton.  Mrs Whisenant lovingly operated a daycare in Holly Springs for many years.

Mrs Whisenant is survived by two sons, Larry Whisenant (Dee), and Richard Whisenant (Patty),  and a daughter, Pat Whisenant Kaply (Mark).  She also leaves ten grandchildren, Jessica Whisenant Newman, Larry Whisenant Jr, John Bradford Whisenant, William Whisenant, Joshua Work, Wyatt Work, Sarah Work DeStephano, Blake Work, Kristen Whisenant Curl. and Christopher Churchill, eighteen great grandchildren, and a sister, Hester Bell. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Lamar Whisenant, her parents, a granddaughter, Jennifer Louise Whisenant, and a sister, Dorothy Thomas.

Services for Mrs Whisenant will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 1:00 pm, at First Baptist Church in Holly Springs.  A visitation for family and friends will be held at the church from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm.  Burial, following the service, will be at Hill Crest Cemetery.  The Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge.
