Margaret O’Dell, of Holly Springs, Mississippi, passed away at Holly Springs Rehabilitation

and Healthcare Center on November 1, 2022. She was born October 15, 1946, to the late

Charles Dee O’Dell and Fonta Woodson O’Dell. She was raised in rural Marshall County

Mississippi and graduated from Holly Springs High School in Holly Springs, MS. Margaret

loved her home and birthplace on O’Dell Road, Chulahoma, MS, and enjoyed taking

photographs around the natural habitat of the property. She faithfully fed her beloved birds

and enjoyed the flowers her mother planted. Over the years she accompanied her mother

to the Marshall County Library Board meetings and many sporting events at Holly Springs

High and Marshall Academy. Listening to football on the radio was a favorite pastime for

them both.

She was preceded in death by her brothers Robert Woodson O’Dell and Charles Denton

O’Dell, in addition to her parents. She is survived by nephew Charles Dee O’Dell, II,

(Christina) of Charlotte, NC; nieces Patricia Lewis (Alan) of Horn Lake, Ellen Hood of

Hernando, and Lisa Hickman(Gary) of Holly Springs; cousins Ann Carpenter and Virginia

Mitchell, both of Holly Springs; and sisters-in-law Ruth O’Dell of Oxford, MS, and Vicki O’Dell

of Holly Springs.

A service is planned for 2:00 on November 7, at the Holly Springs Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1:00. Burial will follow immediately after the service, at Hill Crest Cemetery.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Margaret’s sister-in-law, Vicki

O’Dell, who provided Margaret companionship, advocacy, and love after the death of her

mother and brothers.
