Mary Elizabeth "Tip" Lesley Power, 100, of Holly Springs, passed away surrounded by the love of her family on Sunday, December 26, 2021. Mrs Power was born on May 1, 1921, in Union County, to Clyde Wilson Lesley and Mary Elizabeth "Bess" Barkley Lesley. She was a retired banker with Merchants and Farmers Bank and was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Mrs Power was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Shelby Reeves Power, Jr, who passed away in 1996. She leaves her children, Shelby Reeves Power III (Suzanne) of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, Nancy Elizabeth Power Smith of Godley, Texas, Michael Lesley Power of Potts Camp, Sara Ann Power of Holly Springs, and Martha Barkley Power Stone (David) of Hernando. Miss Tip also leaves nine grandchildren, Dan Smith, Mike Power (Jen), Kristen McGaffin (Mark), Kim Wishcamper, Sara Beth Tuffnell (Sean), Holly Johnson (David), Scott Haley (Beth), Julie Mitchell (Kenneth), and Melissa Thompson (Matt), and her fifteen great grandchildren, Lauren McGaffin, Bowen Haley, Ryan McGaffin, Shelby Tuffnell, Emma Claire Haley, Jayson McGaffin, Zach Power, Sydney Tuffnell, Alex Power, Jax Mitchell, Charlie Johnson, Sebastian Tuffnell, Haley Thompson, Olivia Haley, and Kenlie Mitchell, who were all the loves of her life. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Miriam Lesley Whitten, Bill Lesley, and Bob Lesley,
Services for Miss Tip will be held on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of the Holly Springs Funeral Home. A visitation will begin at 12:30, and will continue until service time. Burial will be at Hill Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to:
