Eric Matthew Shaw, 57, of Waterford, passed awat at his home on July 2, 2025. He was born in Oxford on August 26, 1967, to Guy Knowlton Shaw and Grace Lorraine Hankins Shaw. Eric was a United States Postal Carrier, working in Waterford, Potts Camp and Holly Springs during his career. He attended Mt Moriah Baptist Church as a child before making his profession of faith in April of 1980 at Spring Hill Baptist Church. He was a 1985 graduate of Marshall Academy and attended Northwest Mississippi Community College.
Known as "the fun uncle", Eric always had pockets full of treats and candy when he visited his beloved nieces and nephews. He was a man of few words, one who never sugar-coated his witty replies when asked for advice. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Eric is survived by his mother, Betty Shaw, He also leaves two brothers, Mike Shaw (Kathy), and Steve Shaw, all of Waterford, and a sister, Robin Merritt (Robert) of New Albany, a sister in law, Cherrie Shaw of Waterford, twelve nieces and nephews, and countless great nieces and great nephews. Eric was preceded in death by parents Guy and Grace Shaw, and a brother, Tim Shaw.
Graveside services for Eric will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 10:00am, at the Mt Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery.The Holly Springs Funeral Home has charge. |
