Juanita Childers, age 74, entered into her Heavenly home on April 3, 2023. She passed at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer’s surrounded by her family. Juanita was born on May 30, 1948, to Melvin and Norma Gresham in Ripley, MS. She grew up in Ashland, MS where she graduated from Ashland High School in 1966. On
July 3, 1966, she married the love of her life, Leland Stanley Childers and moved to the Mississippi Delta. They had two daughters in Vicksburg before moving to Greenville, where they resided for 31 years. While in Greenville, Juanita was an active member of Second Baptist Church and enjoyed the friendships of her Sunday School class. She was an excellent seamstress. She always enjoyed sewing for her family and friends, and she sewed for Judge
Little Sporting Goods for many years. She enjoyed traveling with family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren. She spent as much time with them as was able and always attended as many of their functions as she could. Once Stanley retired, they moved back to their hometown where she was an active member of Ashland Baptist Church.
