Pamela (Pam) Jean Buford Bray    Obituary   Holly Springs, MS

On Thursday, January 29, 2026, Pamela Buford Bray - devoted wife, proud mother, cherished grandmother, and beloved friend – was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She passed away at the age of 71, surrounded by love, married to Garry almost 49 years. Theirs was a true love story as they met on a blind date.

Born on September 17, 1954, in Memphis, TN. Pam was the only daughter of Howard and Tommy Jean Buford. Faith was the foundation of her life, shaping the way she walked each day and overflowing in the way she loved, served, and generously gave of herself to others. She lived with steadfast service, her life standing as a witness to the hope and grace found in God.

Pam adored her family, and being a mother brought her immense pride and joy. She poured her heart into her children, Elton and Laura, not only as a parent but as a mentor and their biggest cheerleader. In recent years, one of her greatest blessings was becoming a grandmother, affectionately know as Me Mee. She treasured every moment spent with Bray, Lauralee, and Roane, delighting in the laughter, love, and joy they brought into her life.

She never met a stranger. Her infectious and welcoming smile, warm laugh, and genuine love for people left a mark on everyone she encountered. She was surrounded by a wide circle of friends and found deep joy in participating in community activities. Pam built friendships that felt like family. She loved everyone fully, and her friendships were very important to her.

Pam loved to smock Elton and Laura’s clothes when they were children. She took great pleasure and pride in keeping her children dressed in stylish ways. Unknown to many are the artistic abilities Pam was blessed with. Many pictures hanging in the Bray house are painted by her. She was gifted with an excellent eye for decorating and creating beautiful presentations.

Not many people know Pam graduated from the “W” in 1975 with a degree in Elementary education, with honors. In 1977 she graduated with another degree in Dental Hygiene from The University of Mississippi Medical Center. She loved working as a Dental Hygienist for many years, and practiced her profession with the highest standards.

Pam is preceded in death by her parents. She leaves behind a legacy of love: her beloved husband, Garry; her children, Elton Garry Bray (Kayla)-Holly Springs, MS and Laura Bray Williams(Alex)-Collierville, TN,; her grandchildren, Bray Alexander Williams, Lauralee Alice Williams, and Roane Asher Bray; her brothers, Thomas Howard Buford Jr.-Lexington, KY, Robert Carlisle Buford-Potts Camp, MS, Donald Eugene Buford(Sandy)-Holly Springs, MS,; and her niece, Catherine Mercedes Buford-Lexington, Ky.
