Sidney Rivers Ayres 96, passed away March 21, 2019 at Baptist Hospital, New Albany, MS. Sidney was born February 7, 1923 to James Edenton Ayres and Eula Rossell Ayres in Benton County,MS. Sidney was a member of United Methodist Church of Hickory Flat. Sidney worked as a farmer and was a U.S. Air Force Veteran
Services will be held March 25, 2019 at 11:00 am at Hickory Flat United Methodist Church. There will be a visitation Sunday March 24, 2019 at the church from 3:00 - 6:00 pm. Burial will be at McKay Cemetery, Hickory Flat, MS.
Sidney is survived by his son, Sidney Ayres (Karr) of Hickory Flat, MS. His daughter, Deborah Ayres Autry of New Albany, MS. Four grandchildren, Amy Williams (Ken), Susan Currier (Joe), Jessica Simmons (Glen) and Annah Barnes (Brandon). Nine great grandchildren, Emiy, Luke and Sam Williams, Mason, Josiah and Amos Currier. Ty and Emy Simmons and Effy Barnes. A host od nieces and nephews.
Sidney was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Elsie Ayres and son-in-law, Lanny Ayres.
