Stephen (Steve) Francis Hart died peacefully in his home on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the age of 72, from complications of a stroke. Steve grew up and lived in the Mid-South area his entire life. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee to Thomas and Ethel Todd Hart on July 24, 1949. He attended Collierville High School where he excelled in multiple sports. After graduation, Steve attended Lambuth University where he played both baseball and basketball. He finished his college career at Memphis State University (University of Memphis), where he majored in business and lettered in baseball.
In his professional life, Steve was active and hands on with familybusiness, Hart’s Manufacturing, for over 30 years. After retiring from the family business, Steve found a passion
for helping people renovate their homes and took pride in delivering the monthly Mid-South
Horse Review magazine. Steve had an immense love of the outdoors his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an expert trap shooter, for which he held state championship titles in both Tennessee and Arkansas. Competition was in his heart, whether it was in a game of cards with his granddaughters, or aiming to place first in his fantasy baseball league.
He loved the Lord and was an active member of First Baptist Church in Holly Springs, Mississippi and enjoyed assisting with numerous ministry efforts.
Steve leaves behind his wife of three years, Patsy Bolden Hart. He also leaves behind his three
daughters Shanna Hart Holloway (Brian), Shelley Hart Leavitt (Courtney), and Juliet Hart, along
with his two granddaughters, Eliza Frances and Olivia Price Leavitt, whom he adored and three brothers, Tommy Hart, Mickey Hart, and Paul Hart. Steve is preceded in death by his previous wife, Judy Escue Hart, his brother Marty and his
parents.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 5pm-8pm at Holly Springs
Funeral Home (1160 Highway 311). The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11:00 am at Holly Springs Funeral Home, with a 2:00 pm burial at Memorial Park in Memphis (5668 Poplar Ave).
