Wesley Byron Hughes, 71, of Waterford, Mississippi, passed away in Oxford on August 8, 2021. Mr Hughes was born on July 3, 1950, in Middleton, Tennessee, to John Wesley Hughes and Gladys Dunn Hughes. He was a retired safety coordinator with Northcentral Electric Cooperative, a Methodist, and a United States Army Veteran.
Mr. Hughes is survived by his wife, Lyn Jones Hughes; two sons, Tommy Hughes (Kaitlyn), and Kevin Hughes (Jessica), and a daughter, Kerry Freeman. He also leaves five brothersj, Jimmy Lee Hughes, Phillip Hughes, Stanley Hughes, John Wesley Hughes Jr, and Gary Hester; a sister, Mary Grace Hughes, and ten grandchildren, Dylan Hughes, Lane Hughes, Avery Hughes, Eli Hughes, Khloe Hughes, Cooper Hughes, Coley Hughes, Will Freeman, and Evans Freeman. He was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Kimbrough.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at 10:00 am, at Byhalia Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 10, from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.
