James E. Hurdle born September 29th 1938, 86, of Holly Springs, MS was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 6th 2025. There to meet him were his parents Horace and Viola, siblings, Robert and Bonnie. Left to carry on his traditions are his Wife of 63 years, Carol, daughter, Pamela (Art), grandchildren Drew (Kimberly), Vance (Molly) and great-grandchildren Kenzy, Addison, and one on the way. James is also survived by his beloved sister Helen.
James was a devoted Husband, a loving Father, and a cherished grandfather/great grandfather. After serving in the National Guard he began his career working in the brick industry which spanned over 40 years. He was able to travel the country and touched countless lives with his kindness. Once retired he was able to spend more time with his family and spend time enjoying his loved hobbies. Known for his gardening, time on the farm, and golfing, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
It was James' desire to be cremated and to be buried at Hillcrest Cemetery.
A celebration of life will be held in his honor at the Methodist Church in Holly Springs, MS on August 16th with Visitation at 10am and Funeral Service at 11am. Graveside service to follow.
