Jeanette M Wilburn

In the early morning hours of August 27, 2023, the Lord called home his next angel, Jeanette M Wilburn.  She was born on September 29, 1932, in Alcorn County (Corinth), Mississippi, to her parents Henry and Junie Monroe.  At the time of her passing, she was a resident at Ashland Health and Rehabilitation Center in Ashland.

She was an avid reader and once served as librarian for a small county library.  As a mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, she was the BEST!!  Once a factory worker, she eventually retired as a beautician and from Walmart, as well.

She loved to sing, fish, and work in the vegetable garden, but it was her children she loved the most.  From her own childen to the grandchildren, great grandchildren, the great-great grandchild, and any other children she met.That was what she loved the most, and they loved their MawMaw back immediately.  She is best known for her ability to laugh, make you laugh and have a great time with all she shared company with.

The funeral service will be held at the Holly Springs Funeral Home, and she will be laid to rest beside her husband of 65 years in the Slayden Cemetery.

Those who have gone before her are her husband, AJ Wilburn, parents Henry and Junie Monroe, brothers Harold Monroe (Jonell) and Jimmy Monroe (June), and sisters Doris Miller (Gene), Martha Haney (Charles), and Peggy Day (Jerry), and six half brothers and sisters.

She is survived by four children, Steve Wilburn (Stella), Greg Wilburn (Shirley), Brian WIlburn (Tina), and Cheryl Mitchell (Kebin); ten grandchildren, Jerreme Wilburn (Leigh) Joshua Wilburn (Tami), Wesley Wilburn, Andy Wilburn (Holly), Kelli Sisco (Brandon), Bradley Wilburn, April Aday (Kevin), Natalee Holmes (Ashley), Chad Mitchell (Kortny), and Tracy Boyle; sixteen great grandchildren, Free Wilburn, Reed Wilburn (Shelby), Tara Wilburn, Drew Wilburn, Riley Wilburn, Eliza Jeanette Wilburn, Aaron Sisco, Blake Aday, Addalynn Aday, Ashton Holmes, Madyson Holmes, Magnolia Holmes, Maverick Holmes, Sunee Holmes, and Oakley Mitchell, and one great-great grandchild, Alden Dixon.

Pallbearers will be Joshua Wilburn, Reed Wilburn, Andy Wilburn, Bradley Wilburn, Chad Mitchell, and Free Wilburn.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jerreme Wilburn and Wesley Wilburn.  The funeral service will be officiated by Chaplain Michael Baker.
