Johnny Allen

Johnny "Cigar" Allen, 69, of Lamar, passed away at his home on February 11, 2023. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on September 28, 1953, to Winfred Allen and Lavenia Ford Allen.  Mr Allen was a factory brazer in the air conditioning industry.

Mr Allen is survived by a son, Johnny Mitchell Allen (Amy), and Sherry Smith Allen.  He also leaves three grandchildren, Madison Johnson, Michael Allen, and Braxton Byrd; four great grandchildren, Kolten Allen, Cayden Allen, Faithlyn Johnson, and Callie Allen; two brothers, Winfred J Allen (Marty) and Logan Allen (Judy), and two sisters, Carolyn Thompson and Virginia Byrd.  He was preceded in death by a son, Steven Andrew Allen, a great grandchild, Riley Johnson, a brother, Charles Skelton, and a sister, Mary Cothern.

Services for Mr Allen will be held at Slayden Baptist Church on Friday, February 17, 2023, at 11:00 am.  A visitation for family and friends will be held at the Holly Springs Funeral Home on Thursday evening, February 16, from 4:00 until 7:00 pm.  Burial, following the funeral service will be at Rice Chapel Cemetery.
