Johnny Harold Elliott Sr, 81, of Hickory Flat, Mississippi, passed away on March 13, 2021, at Magnolia Place in New Albany, where he had been a resident for the past four and a half years. He was a member of Hickory Flat United Methodist Church and a was a retired truck driver.
Johnny graduated from Hickory Flat Attendance Center and then began his trucking career as an independent truck driver for many years. He then drove for Stratford, Ashley, Cooper and Big M before retiring.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Bryant Elliott; his sons, Johnny Elliott Jr (Katrin) of Woodbridge, Virginia, and Gary B Elliott (Melissa) of Hickory Flat; three grandchildren, Paul Elliott, Hope Elliott Reed (Trey), and Luke Elliott and two great grandchildren, Rowan and Rainey Reed. He was preceded in death by his parents Luther and Florence Morehead Elliott.
Funeral services will be held at Holly Springs Funeral home on Friday, March 19, 2021, at 2:00 pm. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 18, from 5:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Hickory Flat United Methodist Church or Pisgah Cemetery in Hickory Flat, Mississippi. |
